I Light candle on Altar, Filled goblet with water, light incense, an offering of earth of dried apricots and runes at hand.
I began the meditation on Deep Friendship by calling up a SweetWood Temenos priestess, Water sister, friend and lover.
She appeared out of the darkness of inner vision wearing a tiara and naked. We kissed and she handed a baby to me. The baby started to grow into a tree and I set it on the ground and it took root. She came around to behind me and whispered in my ear “Choose’. So I chose a rune Daeg (Day). Some say that Daez’s symbol is a double headed axe others say it is a symbol of the duality of consciousness and the “Yin and Yang” of awareness.
Daeg, the glorious light of the creator(s)
Is sent by the lord (and Lady),
It is beloved of men (and women),
A source of hope and happiness
To rich and poor
And a service to all (paraphrased from Helrunar by Jan Fries)
Thus started my meditation on Deep Friendship.
Arose out of the darkness of inner vision these words:
Deep friendship whose foundation is trust
A letting go of internal noise, anxious distractions
A dissolution of boundaries enough for a communion of souls
Who seeks and who is sought
What is asked for
And what is given
What is the gift shared
The cornerstone of Deep Friendship
Deep Friendship is a love relationship
A bond of interdependence
Great mutual Self-acceptance
Personal emotional investment in the well being of other
To care and to be loyal
Intertwined, cultivated and supported
Spiritual blood of a peaceful kin
Conscious of Divinity within and without
Day knows the dancing balance of dark and light
Thou Art Goddess, thou Art God
Beautiful and naked is the sight
Never Thirst for all who drink from this cup
